Mission & Outreach To seek, discern, and provide opportunities for members of The Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake to reach out in acts of caring and support by sharing our resources, including ourselves, to the wider community, through projects in and around our local area, the Diocese of Western North Carolina, the national Episcopal Church, and world-wide organizations thereby expressing our love for them through Christ. Corner Table A group of parishioners provide bi-monthly meals to a local soup kitchen in Newton, NC. CROP Walk A yearly community initiative held throughout the country to raise money to help stop hunger. ELCM Volunteer to work at East Lincoln Christian Ministries in the clothes closet or food pantry, or volunteer to drive for the home meals program. Assist in other activities in support of this vital ministry that helps those in need. Backpack for kids Help provide food to send home with local school children each weekend during the school year. Disaster Relief Members provide assistance during hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters by collecting and delivering water and emergency supplies, as well as providing hands on support through rebuilding and repair. We also coordinate and execute mission trips as needed.
