Adult Formation

Formation and teaching for adult ministry is taken very seriously here at St. Peter by-the-Lake. There are a number of opportunities for Christian Formation during the year, below are some examples:

Weekly Formation Opportunities

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY (EFM)

On Wednesday nights at 7pm from September – May. This is much more than a bible study. It is an in-depth curriculum from the School of Theology at the University of the South (Sewanee). Students study the Old Testament, the New Testament, Church History and Theology. The program is 4 years in length. There is cost involved. Please contact Father Ron or Sherree Brady for more information.**

KERYGMA - Discovering the Bible

This small group introduces you to the people, places and stories of the Bible and encourages you to discover where The Story lives in your story! Through a process of reading, reflection, discussion and creative expression, both the first-time learner and the lifelong student are invited to an engaging, rewarding encounter with Scripture that will greatly deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Fall 2016 class begins Tuesday, September 20th, at 7:00 p.m.  Contact spbtlkina@yahoo.com for more information.

CENTERING PRAYER

Join us Wednesdays at 12:00pm in the Library of St. Peter by-the-lake for Centering Prayer.  We gather and pray together this "Prayer of Heart".  This is how some describe centering prayer - A prayer of letting go.  A prayer of resting in God.  A prayer that helps to cultivate a deeper relationship with God.
